Maintain Eye Health
Certainly, each of these senses is invaluable in itself, but vision is considered the most important, as it is used to visualize about 80% of all impressions.
An eye for an eye , Makes the whole world blindSo, now you are getting a better idea of why you should take your eye health more seriously, and if not, it is going to harm your pocket too. Wait a minute, did I just say 'pocket your pocket'? Let me fix it, it hurts our 'pocket'!

If problems like eye cataract, low vision, macular degeneration, cataract, and diabetic retinopathy provoke you, then you better protect your eyes, because a little care is now given to your eyes in the later years of your life. Will go a long way in maintaining the light. One of the best ways is to follow these 10 tips for optimum eye health.
1- Avoid excessive exposure on computer screen
Besides being the cause of neck, back and shoulder pain, staring at a computer / phone screen for too long can severely affect the health of your eyes. Some of the eye problems you may experience from excessive exposure to computer / phone screens include:
- Eye strain
- Dry eyes
- Blurry vision
- Long range focus issues
Some protective measures include:
- Updating your specs or contact prescription for screen exposure
- Seeking proper medical care in case of prolonged eye light and considering computer glasses for computer use
- Selecting a comfortable supportive chair and keeping it where your feet lie flat on the floor
- Blink more if your eyes dry up
- Follow the 20-20-20 rule where you rest your eyes every 20 minutes by looking continuously 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
- Taking a 15 minute break every 2 hours and getting up from your chair is also recommended
2- Consult an eye doctor regularly
Vision test to determine farsightedness / proximity, presbyopia (changes in vision due to aging process), astigmatism (blurred vision due to a curved cornea).
Test to determine coordination between both eyes
Optic nerve and eye pressure test to correct glaucoma
Microscopic and external eye examination before and after dilation
3- Fresh air
The benefits of fresh air will not be limited to the lungs and heart. Fresh air supplies oxygen directly to the cornea in your eyes, as they lack their own oxygen supply mechanism. Therefore, make sure to soak your eyes in as much fresh air as possible.
4- Avoid rubbing your eyes
Oddly, most people nurture the habit of rubbing their eyes every other minute. For many of them, eye rubbing turns into an irritable habit, which is quite harmful to eye health. You need to realize that your hands are covered most of the time with a host of germs responsible for a variety of diseases and infections. Therefore, if you get rid of this unhealthy habit, it is better, but if you cannot, make sure to keep your hands as clean as possible. You can use anything from soap to sanitizer, just keep them clean if you can't stop rubbing them on your eyes.
5- Stay hydrated
Speaking of dry eyes, dehydration can also cause it. The human body relies heavily on water to function smoothly. If you are not conscious of the level of fluid in your body, the production of tears in your eyes is also affected, among a myriad of other complications, resulting in dry eyes. Just stay hydrated to keep your eyes out of trouble.
6- Avoid dry air
Making your home comfortable through the winter can also be an unexpected culprit if dry eyes are making you angry late. A humidifier can be very helpful in such scenarios, providing some much needed moisture to help your eyes stay hydrated.
7- Sleep well
If you are in the habit of giving up sleep regularly then your eyes may also get in trouble. Adequate sleep ensures that your eyes rest well and remain stress free.
8- It's not a good idea to share your towel
Being generous is one thing and sharing your towel is totally different. It is more preferred to choose between the two, as sharing facial towels and washers means that your eyes may be vulnerable to infectious eye infections such as conjunctivitis (or pinkies).
9- Quit smoking
This makes you prone to cataracts, damage to your optic nerve, and macular degeneration among many other medical problems. If you tried to kick before you resume the habit, keep it up. The more times you try to quit, the more likely you are to succeed. Ask your doctor for help.
10- Wear sunglasses
The right pair of colors will help protect your eyes from the sun's ultraviolet (UV) rays. Very high UV exposure increases the likelihood of cataracts and macular degeneration.
Choose a pair that prevents 99% to 100% UVA and UVB rays. Wraparound lenses help protect your eyes from the side. Polarized lenses reduce glare while driving.
If you wear contact lenses, some provide UV protection. It is still a good idea to wear sunglasses for an extra layer.
